In this video, see how to use the ECO/Start & Stop mode on a Mercedes vehicle; this automatically switches off the engine in certain situations when the vehicle is stationary, such as at a red traffic light, saving fuel and reducing emissions; to restart, simply press the accelerator.

The system considers various parameters, such as engine temperature, battery charge, road incline, and the requirements of the air conditioning to maintain internal comfort.

Additionally, ensure that the doors are properly closed and seat belts are fastened. The system activates automatically each time you start the car. The Start & Stop indicator is an "A" inside a circle and is green.

For cars with an automatic gearbox, just lift your foot off the brake and the vehicle will start. You can manually turn off the system by pressing the button on the centre console, which on some models is labelled "ECO". On some models, selecting sport modes will deactivate the system.
