In this video we can see how to use the ECO/Start & Stop mode on a Mercedes car; this automatically turns off the engine in certain situations when the car is stopped, such as at a red light, saving fuel and reducing emissions; to restart, simply press the accelerator. The system takes into account a number of parameters, such as engine temperature, battery charge, road gradient, and even air conditioning needs to maintain internal comfort. Additionally, it is necessary for the doors to be properly closed and seat belts fastened. The system starts automatically every time the car is turned on. The Start & Stop indicator light is an "A" in the center of a circle and is green. For cars with automatic transmission, simply lift your foot off the brake and the car will start. It is possible to manually turn off the system by pressing the button on the central console, which on some models is labeled "ECO". On some models, selecting sport modes will deactivate the system.
