Replacing the Engine Thermostat

In this video, we show you how to replace the engine thermostat. Replacing the thermostat is necessary when the engine no longer reaches optimal operating temperature or overheats, as it may be stuck in the open or closed position. First, drain the engine cooling system by disconnecting the rubber hose near the thermostat. Remove the three Allen head bolts and take off the thermostat cover. Use a wire brush to remove any buildup from both the bolts and the cover, being careful not to scratch the sealing surface. Insert the new thermostat, the gasket, and reassemble everything. Fill the cooling system, ensuring no air bubbles form inside.
