- Years 2000-2007 To replace the thermostatic valve, the engine cooling system must first be drained and to be sure to empty it completely without the system remaining under pressure, it is advisable to start the engine and activate the passenger compartment heating to maximum; at this point drain the coolant through the special valve located under the radiator and intercept the position of the thermostatic valve which is located in the front part of the engine, practically next to the seat of the engine oil filter; then disconnect the pipes and disassemble the relative fixing pins, also removing the plate behind the auxiliary belt drive roller; once the thermostat has been replaced, fill the system again, paying attention to avoid the formation of air bubbles.
