Oil and Filter Change on a Mercedes Vito W638

Let's see how to change the oil and filter on a Mercedes Vito W638: open the bonnet and unscrew the oil cap to facilitate drainage, then lift the vehicle and place it on axle stands. Clean the area around the drain plug, position a suitable container underneath, and unscrew the drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely, which you will then dispose of correctly at an authorised centre. In the meantime, clean the area of the filter, empty the housing, and remove the old filter and old seal (which can be found on Amazon with code B001DRJNLQ at a price of £28.68 with free delivery for Prime customers). Clean the cover, install the new seals and the new filter, lubricate the rubber seal with new oil, and then tighten the filter with a torque wrench to 25 Nm. Clean the area around the drain hole and fit a new plug at the bottom of the sump; lower the vehicle and pour approximately 7.5 litres of new oil into the engine using a funnel. Start the engine and let it run at idle for a few minutes until the oil pressure warning light goes out; turn off the engine and wait 5 minutes, then top up if necessary. Inspect the area around the filter and drain plug to ensure there are no leaks.
