Operation: Removal of the Mercedes C220 class W204 steering wheel

Descriptive guide for removing the steering wheel of a Mercedes C-class 220 W204. The first step for any steering wheel equipped with an Airbag is to release the airbag. Position the steering wheel in the center, looking sideways, the steering wheel has a round slot on each side. With a Phillips screwdriver the size of the buttonhole, drill the flywheel. Sit down, with one hand make the airbag move a bit and with the other insert a fixed screwdriver into the hole made previously. Push in a little so that the locking tab is pressed. Do the same procedure for both sides. Be careful not to pull the airbag. Using a small fixed screwdriver, unscrew the yellow airbag connector, the black connector for the steering wheel controls and the brown wire to the frame. Using a ratchet and an 8 Allen key, unscrew the central fixing pin of the steering wheel. You can take out the steering wheel.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
