Removing the Steering Wheel on Mercedes C220 W204

This is a guide for removing the steering wheel on a Mercedes C220 W204. The first step for any steering wheel with an airbag is to disconnect the airbag. Position the steering wheel at center; looking from the side, the steering wheel has a round slot on each side. Use a star screwdriver that fits the slot to pierce the steering wheel. Sit down, move the airbag slightly with one hand, and with the other hand, insert a flat screwdriver into the previously made hole. Apply some pressure inward to press the locking tab. Repeat the same procedure on both sides. Be careful not to pull the airbag. Using a small flat screwdriver, disconnect the yellow airbag connector, the black connector for the steering wheel controls, and the brown wire to the chassis. Using a ratchet and an 8mm hex bit, unscrew the central fastening bolt of the steering wheel. You can now remove the steering wheel.
