Replacing the key battery on newer Mercedes models is a straightforward task since it is located inside an easily removable cover. On the back of the key, there will be a black cover that can be removed by pressing the button on the top of the cover and sliding it in the opposite direction.

Once the cover is removed, you will notice a small removable compartment similar to the one used for inserting a SIM card in some smartphone models. This can be easily pulled out with your fingers, and inside it will hold the battery, which can then be replaced with a new one.
