How to Remove the Starter Motor on a Mercedes B

Here’s how to remove the starter motor on a Mercedes B. Lift the front bonnet and secure it. Remove the starter motor protections (covers, etc.), disconnect the battery power terminals and the terminals connected to the starter motor. Access from underneath or from the wheel arch if you have trouble removing it. Use a socket spanner to undo the securing bolts of the starter motor and remove it from the engine bay. Fit the new starter motor, connecting the power cables and the associated securing screws. Refit all the protections of the starter motor.
