Guide to Cleaning Battery Terminals

Dirt can cause current loss and a shorter battery life. To clean the battery, you do not need to remove it. Before starting any operation, disconnect the battery. Clean the connectors with a cleaner, then scrape off any old residue. Wash the terminals with water and then dry them. Once the terminal cleaning is complete, reposition the cables, connecting the positive terminal first and then the negative, tightening the nuts with a wrench. After that, replace the tape covering the terminals.
