Repairing Auxiliary Water Pump Leak

Model: Mercedes Classe E W210 - Years 1995-2002

The auxiliary water pump is generally electrically driven and circulates the heating water. Once you remove the four screws securing the top cap (where the two inlet and outlet nozzles are located), take it off along with the o-ring gasket and extract the pump impeller: a piece is missing from the edge of the impeller support, causing a seal failure of the gasket. It is necessary to carefully glue the detached pieces and apply gasket sealant to the mating edge of the pump body and the impeller support; also apply the sealant in the o-ring seat and reassemble the cover, sealing everything with the sealant. Before installing the pump, wait for the sealant to completely dry.
