How to Remove and Replace the Cabin Air Filter

Watch this video to learn how to replace the cabin air filters. The car in question has filters both under and behind the glove compartment on the passenger side, and this video will show you how to replace the ones under the glove compartment. Start by partially removing the carpet from under the dashboard on the passenger side. Remove the styrofoam panel and the plastic panel under the lower glove compartment near the engine. As you can see, there are two filters. Slide the first clip to the right and the second to the left to remove the covers. Extract both filters. The filtering material may look different, but they are still compatible. Note that the shape of each filter is different, so when reinstalling them, they cannot be swapped. Always pay close attention during disassembly and reassembly to the position of the arrow on the filter that indicates the direction of airflow. Insert the filters, replace the covers, locking them in place by sliding the clips. Reinstall the panel, ensuring it is securely attached, reposition the styrofoam panel, and finally the carpet.
