The support damper for the glove compartment door is actually a gas spring. It consists of a piston with a rubber seal at the end to retain air, and a spring that aids in its return, all contained within a plastic capsule. The piston rod is connected to the support system through a plastic bracket secured with a clip. To replace this damper, you must remove the entire glove compartment as the damper is located behind the hinge.
