Replacing the Battery on the Mercedes SLK 230

When it is necessary to replace the battery in the vehicle, follow these simple instructions: First, open the bonnet; the battery is located at the top of the engine compartment just below the windscreen on the left side. Remove the cover of the compartment, which is only resting in place, then unscrew the nuts securing the support plate above. Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal. You can then remove the battery and place the new one in the housing. Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal, reposition the upper support plate, and finally replace the plastic cover.
