Mercedes Classe C - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Classe C W204 - Years 2007-2013
Part: Timing belt
Operation: When to change the timing belt on your Mercedes C-Class

The timing belt is a fundamental component of the engine whose task is to transmit the motion from the crankshaft to the camshaft, also called distribution shaft. One or more trees make up the distribution system. With their movement, they control the opening and closing of the valves which regulate the entry of the mixture (air and fuel) and the exit of the exhaust gases. The distribution in the car must be perfectly synchronized with the other moving parts of the engine, especially the pistons. An incorrect synchronization leads to an important engine malfunction and the possibility of a "collision" between valves and pistons with breakage or serious consequences for the mechanical parts and high repair costs. Its tearing almost always causes very important damage to the engine: breakage of the pistons, valves, crankshaft and sometimes even the water pump. On this car, the manufacturer provides for replacement every 120,000 km.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
