Replacing Light Switch Controls

Model: Mercedes Slk R170, MK 1 - Years 1997-2004

To replace the controls for the wipers, indicators, etc., commonly known as the light switch, you first need to remove the airbag and then the steering wheel; at this point, remove the so-called slip ring (or spiral group or airbag ribbon), which contains a flat cable spiral and must not be rotated to avoid damage; once this ring is removed, you can take off the control lever support and replace it with the new one; then reverse the process by installing the spiral group and then the steering wheel and airbag.
