Instructions for Removing Air Conditioning Condenser

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005

The air conditioning condenser is located in front of the engine cooling radiator and just behind the cooling fans: to remove it, you must first remove the front headlights by taking off the lower trim and unscrewing the relevant fastening pins; once the headlights are removed, take off the bonnet support crossmember to access the fan assembly and remove them complete with their supporting frame to access the condenser; at this point, disconnect the refrigerant gas lines (recover the gas with the appropriate equipment rather than releasing it into the environment) and extract the plastic pin that connects the condenser to the radiator to complete the removal.
