Removal and Replacement of the Transfer Case

The LOW RANGE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR is a component of four-wheel drive vehicles that allows switching between two and four-wheel drive. You need to work under the car, so you can do this either uncomfortably with the car in a normal position or by raising it on a ramp or with a jack. To check if the Transfer Case is not functioning, observe that its light on the dashboard flashes when you turn on the ignition and when switching to four-wheel drive. Locate the position of the Transfer Case and proceed with the disassembly. To do this, unscrew the bolts that secure it in place using the appropriate socket. Once unscrewed, proceed to remove it, and to do this, you must disconnect the cables. To disconnect the cables, push on the clip that secures the connector and pull. Now you can replace the old part with the new one by reversing the actions we just performed. You will see that the light on the dashboard no longer flashes. The car on which the maintenance is performed is a Mercedes M-Class.
