Replacing the Lower Suspension Control Arm

Model: Mercedes Classe C W204 - Years 2007-2013

The lower control arm of the front suspension consists of a ball joint attached to the hub support and a bushing with a silent block secured with a pin to the engine cradle. To replace it, lift the vehicle and remove the front wheel. Then, unscrew the retaining nut of the ball joint and use a forked puller to free it from the hub support. Next, unscrew the retaining pin of the bushing and remove the control arm to install the new one. Once the bushing is secured to the cradle, apply a jack under the suspension to support it enough to insert the ball joint into its seat and secure it.
