Replacing Suspension Arm Bushings

Model: Mercedes Classe C W202 - Years 1993-2000

Lift the vehicle at the wheel where the repair will be made, remove the wheel, and apply a jack stand.
Then, apply two clamps to the suspension spring, remove the mounting bolts of the shock absorber from the control arm and the vehicle frame (access the latter from the engine compartment), and remove it from its seat by retracting the rod.
Using the clamps, compress the suspension spring until it moves away from its frame support (use zip ties to keep the support bushing in its place) and proceed to remove the mounting bolts of the control arm at the respective bushings (silent blocks) and the ball joint to extract it from its seat.
At this point, you can proceed with the revision of the control arm by replacing only the bushings: to remove the old bushings, you can make a longitudinal cut on the outer sleeve of the bushing so that it can shrink and come out easily; for inserting the new ones, you can use a puller system by inserting a pin of appropriate length into the inner part of the bushing and a sufficiently large washer with a nut on the other side that allows the bushing to slide into the control arm seat as you tighten the nut.
Once the revision of the arm is complete, proceed in reverse for reassembly (pay attention to repositioning the spring).
