Mercedes Slk - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Slk MK 1, R170 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Soft top
Operation: How do you replace the hydraulic pistons for the roof on the Mercedes SLK?

In order to replace the hydraulic pistons of the convertible top on the Mercedes SLK, you must first remove the covers that cover the pistons located at the base of the convertible top mechanism. Once the pistons are visible, you will need to disconnect the connectors attached to them and proceed with the removal of the bolts: these will be located at the top and bottom of the piston itself. At this point, it will be possible to completely remove the old pistons from their housing, so that they can be replaced with new spare parts; after the replacement, it will be necessary to verify that everything functions correctly.

Then we get on board the car, on the driver's side, and start by unhooking and removing our switch, disconnecting the electrical connector; then let's reassemble everything, checking that the errors have been cleared from the instrument panel!
