Over time and with use, the battery inside the key fob for the Mercedes A-Class depletes, and you need to replace it. On the back of the key fob, slide the button to release the emergency key, which you will insert into the fob to open the cover that protects the battery compartment.

Using a screwdriver or by tapping the back of the fob, remove the old CR2025 battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring correct orientation.

Reattach the cover and insert the emergency key back into its housing.
