- Years 2012-2018 In order to replace the auxiliary battery of the Mercedes A-Class, you need to completely remove the carpet under the glove compartment on the passenger side: once the carpet is removed, you can locate the battery underneath so that it can be disconnected from the power cables and released from the screws holding it in place. At this point, you can remove the old battery, insert the new one, secure it in place, and cover everything with the carpet.
