How to repair the reverse lights of the Mini R56

Let's see how to repair the reverse lights of a Mini R56: according to the workshops, the fault was repaired by changing the body computer, with a significant cost. We will need to identify the reverse light switch inside the engine compartment. First, we check that it works. In this case, we check the wiring that goes to the body computer, disconnect them from the terminal block and extend them through the trunk; the white wire is used to power the reverse light. We connect them through a 2-contact 12 Volt relay. For power, the current was taken from the cigarette lighter in the engine compartment creating a separate circuit where the positive will be directly connected to the relay and the negative will pass through the reverse light switch.
