Operation: How to top up engine oil and check the levels in your car

Engine oil top-up and oil level check are essential maintenance operations to keep your car's engine in good working condition. Here's how you can top up and check the engine oil: Note: Before you begin, make sure you have the right engine oil recommended for your car. Consult the owner's manual to verify the type and viscosity of the recommended oil. Cleaning and preparation: Make sure the engine is cold before proceeding with the oil check. Park the car on a flat and level surface. Start the engine and let it warm up for a few minutes, then turn it off and wait a few minutes to allow the oil to drain into the oil pan. Locate the engine oil dipstick. Open the hood and locate the oil dipstick. It is usually located near the engine and is marked with a colored handle. Check the oil level: Remove the oil dipstick and clean it with a clean cloth. Reinsert the oil dipstick into the tube all the way. Pull out the oil dipstick and observe the oil level marked on the dipstick. There should be marks to indicate the maximum and minimum levels. The oil should be between the minimum and maximum levels. If the oil level is close to or below the minimum level, a top-up is necessary. Engine oil top-up: For the top-up, you will need the recommended engine oil for your vehicle and a funnel. Remove the oil cap located on the oil pan cover. Using the funnel, slowly pour the engine oil into the oil cap hole. Periodically check the oil level using the dipstick and make sure not to exceed the maximum level. Gradually top up the oil until the level reaches the correct position between the minimum and maximum levels. Reassembly: Make sure the oil cap is securely closed. Close the hood. Record keeping: Note the amount of oil added in the service book or owner's manual to keep track of top-ups.
