Check Fluid Levels on the Mini One

In this video, learn how to check the fluid levels on the Mini One: start by opening the bonnet. The oil level is monitored electronically, so start the engine and let it idle.

After about a minute, the level check will be performed. If oil needs to be added, turn off the engine, then check the level again.

The coolant expansion tank is located on the right side of the engine bay. With the engine cold, turn the cap counterclockwise. The level should reach the maximum mark.

If necessary, add a mixture of water and antifreeze, then securely refit the cap. The brake fluid reservoir is located at the rear of the engine bay, and the plastic cover must be removed. Again, the fluid should be at the maximum level.

If needed, add new fluid from a sealed container, securely refit the cap, and then cover with the plastic lid. The windscreen washer reservoir is on the right side of the engine bay: open the cap and refill with a mixture of water and appropriate fluid, then securely refit the cap, and finally close the bonnet.
