How to replace the rear brake pads on the Mini Cooper

Model: Mini Mini R56, R57, R55 - Years 2007-2014
Part: Brake pads

In this video we see how to change the rear brake pads on a Mini Cooper: first, open the brake fluid cap, unscrew the bolts of the rear wheels and lift at least the rear part of the car securely: remove the rear wheels and separate the brake pads. Remove the caps from the dust covers of the caliper guide, unscrew the caliper fixing and then detach the retention spring. Remove the brake bracket and support the brake caliper so that it is not hanging on the brake hose, then remove the pads. Measure the thickness of the disc to make sure it does not need to be replaced, and also check the caliper bracket, guide bolts, and caliper boot. Push the brake caliper with the appropriate tool. Treat the back of the new pads with the appropriate anti-squeal paste, check the cleanliness of the disc and then install the new pads and apply the caliper. Install the dust caps of the caliper guides, then mount the fixing spring. Without starting the engine, press the brake pedal several times all the way down. Clean the disc surface and treat the part that does not come into contact with the rim with copper grease. Screw the wheel back on, lower the car and tighten the bolts. Operation completed.
