The oil light illuminates on the instrument panel of a vehicle when it is necessary to check the oil level in the reservoir. If the oil level is not between the minimum and maximum, topping up is required. However, there are cases where the light comes on to indicate that it is time to change the engine oil and oil filter. After replacing the engine oil, you must reset the light; to perform this simple operation on a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander, press the menu button to access the maintenance settings. Select the engine oil option to update the mileage for the next oil change. After the reset, restart the instrument panel.
