How to change the oil and filter of the Mitsubishi Pajero DIY

On the Mitsubishi Pajero, the oil and filter change is performed safely on a flat surface, with the engine turned off and allowed to cool enough to avoid burns. Raise the vehicle and place it on jack stands at the correct points: it is essential to have space under the engine because the oil drain and filter are accessible from underneath. Prepare a large container, gloves, and absorbent material. Access the underside of the Mitsubishi Pajero's engine and position the container under the oil pan. If there are underbody protections, remove them as needed to reach the drain plug and filter area. Unscrew the drain plug and allow the oil to completely drain out. Before reassembling, check the washer/gasket of the plug and replace it if necessary and worn; then close the plug with the torque specified by the manufacturer. Locate the oil filter on the Pajero and move the container under the filter as well, as more oil may come out. When unscrewing the filter, clean the seat well and ensure that the old gasket is not stuck. Lubricate the new filter gasket with a thin layer of clean oil and screw it in by hand until it is snug; complete the tightening according to the specifications on the filter, without forcing it. From the engine compartment of the Mitsubishi Pajero, refill with oil of the correct specification for your model (viscosity and approvals as per the manual). Pour gradually, start the engine for a few seconds and turn it off, then wait and check the level with the dipstick, topping up to the correct value without exceeding the maximum.
