Repairing the Air Conditioning Controls

Model: Mitsubishi Lancer MK 8 - Years 2000-2006

In this video, the air conditioning control of a Mitsubishi Lancer does not rotate properly and appears to be stuck. Looking inside the mechanism, the plastic gears that regulate the movement of the air conditioning control seem worn. Therefore, proceed to replace them. First, remove the small glove compartment located under the controls. Pull off the control knobs and unscrew the screw that secures the plastic frame of the controls and the radio. Also, remove the radio unit (after removing its fixing screws) and disconnect its wiring. Now you can take out the old gears by unscrewing the screws that hold them in place and disconnect the connecting cable. Once the old gears are removed, compare them with the new ones yet to be installed. Finally, complete the job by reassembling everything as before.
