The 1.0 petrol engine of the Nissan Micra K12 has a chain distribution and it may happen that this tends to lengthen and consequently becomes noisy; replacing the chain requires a certain familiarity, above all because the best solution is to disconnect the engine and work on the bench; before removing the chain it is essential to align the timing references and then remove the chain tensioner, the sliding shoe and the two pulleys of the camshafts: comparing the old chain with the new one you will notice the elongation; once the new chain has been installed, the sliding shoe and the tensioner will also be replaced and then the crankshaft will be turned a few times to check everything is aligned; the oil guards of the crankcase will also be replaced.

How to set the time on the Peugeot 308
