How to Remove the Alternator from the Nissan Primastar

This guide shows how to replace the alternator on the Nissan Primastar. The first step is to loosen the tensioner of the timing belt and slide it off. After removing the fixing bolts of the alternator, you need to remove the upper part of the front bumper to allow the piece to come out. To do this, you must remove the radiator and the headlights. At this point, once the fixing bolts are unscrewed, you can remove the upper part of the bumper. Extract the alternator without damaging nearby components. You can then install the new alternator and reassemble the parts removed so far. Check the proper functioning of the alternator using a multimeter.
