How to Replace the Fuel Filter on a Nissan Micra K1

Here’s how to replace the fuel filter on a Nissan Micra: disconnect the negative battery terminal and open the fuel tank cap. Remove the rear seat by unfastening it from its location, unscrew the two screws holding the frame from both the passenger compartment and the boot side, fold the backrest down and rotate everything upwards. On the right side of the floor, you will see the cover accessing the tank; unscrew the three screws to remove it after cleaning the work area. Spray some cleaning spray and use compressed air on the filter cap, disconnect the electrical connector and the fuel line, using an absorbent cloth to avoid spills. Using the appropriate spanner, unscrew the collar holding the filter and once removed, place it in a container. Fit the float arm onto the new filter and install it in its location, paying attention to the reference notch, fit the gasket and re-screw the collar aligning the arrow on the housing. After cleaning, reconnect the fuel line and the electrical connector. Reconnect the negative terminal and try to start the engine; once confirmed it’s working properly, close the floor cap and reinstall the rear seat.
