The failure of the cable attachment eyelet on the internal opening lever is a common defect in various Nissan models; while the solution would be to replace the handle, it is possible to repair it by reconstructing the eyelet: you need to drill a small hole through which to pass a steel cable (welding wire is recommended) and then close it on itself to create a proper collar; this way, you can keep the head of the cable in place, which acts as a pull.
