How to replace the engine oil filter on an Opel Vectra? Follow these steps for the replacement: open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet and secure it. Using a socket wrench (with the appropriate socket and extension), unscrew the large securing bolt of the container cap; remove the used oil filter, unscrew the drain bolt of the oil sump (allow the used oil to drain into a container) and screw it back in. Fit a new filter into the container, ensuring it adheres well around the walls. Finally, refit the oil box cap and top up the engine.
