How do you remove the steering wheel on an Opel Astra? Before removing the steering wheel, disconnect the battery power cables for safety. Use a screwdriver and suitable bit to unscrew the steering wheel covers, then remove the airbag by unscrewing the screws present. Once the airbag is removed, disconnect the power connectors; then unscrew the central bolt of the steering wheel and disconnect the power connectors. Pull the steering wheel off with your hands after marking the securing position with a marker. Prepare to fit the new steering wheel or repair the existing one.
