How to Remove the Steering Wheel on an Opel Astra

How do you remove the steering wheel on an Opel Astra? Before removing the steering wheel, disconnect the battery terminals located in the engine bay. Follow these steps for disassembly: remove the inspection caps at the back of the steering wheel (if present), then unscrew the securing screws at the back of the steering wheel (where the airbag is located) using a socket or screwdriver. Once the airbag is released (driver's side), disconnect the power connectors and remove it from the steering wheel. Unscrew the large central nut and remove the steering wheel from its position. For refitting the steering wheel: insert the steering wheel by hand and tighten the securing bolt.
