Replacing the EGR Unit on an Opel Vivaro with Exhaust Gas in the Cabin Issue

In this video, we see a high-mileage Opel Vivaro with serious issues: exhaust gas entering the cabin and abnormal coolant consumption (1 litre every 20 miles!). The work was quite laborious. To remove the entire EGR unit, it was necessary to disassemble much of the front suspension (hubs, links, stabiliser); disconnect pipes, cables, and engine mounts, and remove the power steering hose, which proved particularly complex. Once disassembled, the damage was evident. The EGR exchanger was full of sludge and soot and had a physical leak, explaining both the coolant consumption and the ingress of fumes into the cabin. An original replacement was installed: EGR, exchanger, pipes, and gaskets; the only option available for this model.
