How do you remove the fuel pump from an Opel Astra? Start by disconnecting the battery cables, then remove the rear seat cushions and cut the fabric cover (if necessary). Use a socket to unscrew the retaining screws of the metal cap (if present), and remove it from its seat; cover the perimeter with absorbent paper to soak up any fluid leaks. Unscrew the retaining clamp of the fuel pump, disconnect the power terminals and the liquid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from the tank along with the associated parts. Finally, refit a new piece.
