Repairing Dents Without Respraying

It is possible to repair some dents without the need for filler and respraying the bodywork, simply by straightening the metal. It is clear that to carry out this type of repair, a lot of skill and experience is required, as well as specific tools made of levers and shaped punches to restore the correct shape to edges and curves. Start by gently heating the area to be straightened and then try to push out the dent in incremental steps: attempting to do it in one go could risk cracking the paint; during the straightening process, tap the bodywork to eliminate any ripples. Finish the job by polishing the affected area.
