Replacing the Gear Knob on an Opel Astra

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra J - Years 2009-2016

Press the rear button and pull (slightly rotating) the upper part of the knob to separate it from the stem. If you need to change the gaiter as well, use a plastic lever (not metal!) or a small flat screwdriver to detach the frame from its housing, doing this slowly and carefully. In this model and other Opels made in the same years, you will be fortunate that the gaiter will detach with the frame itself, making the job easier. Now disconnect the connector and fit the new gaiter by snapping it into place, then mount the knob tip by pressing the rear button and pushing it firmly into position.
