Replacement of the Rocker Arm Shaft

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra G - Years 1998-2006
Part: Engine

The operation of the valves in this type of engine is performed through rockers controlled by the camshaft and fixed onto pillars (which resemble the columns of a castle, hence the name "rocker arm shaft") that end with a spherical head; once the cylinder head gasket has been replaced and the cylinder head installed, insert the well-lubricated pillars and rockers; then insert the camshaft into its support, secure it with the appropriate side flange, and insert the oil seal; apply gasket sealant and place the camshaft with its support, tightening the respective fixing pins that also secure the cylinder head to the block. Finally, install the toothed pulley, align the timing marks, and insert the timing belt.
