To replace the alternator on an Opel Astra, open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay. The alternator is located on the left side of the engine bay, right next to the engine block. Remove the serpentine belt and the corresponding pulley to loosen the bolts securing the alternator in place.

At this point, disconnect the alternator's power cables, allowing you to remove it and replace it with a new one, reassembling all removed parts.
