Remove the alternator from an Opel Astra? Start by accessing the alternator from the engine bay. Pull the lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the bonnet, securing it. Locate the battery and disconnect the terminals. Remove the front wheel to access the alternator, then undo the bolts using a socket spanner and remove all the alternator securing bolts. Once disassembly is complete, remove the belt from the alternator. Insert the new alternator into the appropriate housing, tighten the securing bolts, then tighten the side bolts of the alternator. After reassembling the parts, test the operation.
