How to change the diesel filter of the Peugeot 208.

To replace the diesel filter on the Peugeot 208, it's important to work with the engine off and in a clean area, as even small drops of fuel can dirty wiring and components. Open the hood and locate the diesel filter body in the engine compartment, in a rear area near the firewall. Keep absorbent rags and a container nearby to manage any spills when the filter is opened. After clearing access to the filter body, carefully disconnect the fittings/hoses on the cover, using the release mechanism provided by the quick connectors without forcing them. At this point, unscrew or detach the filter cover and lift it gently: inside, you will find the filter cartridge. Remove the cartridge and let any residual fuel drain into the container, then clean the filter seat to eliminate dirt and debris. Before reassembling, replace the O-ring gasket of the cover with a new one, ensuring it is correctly positioned in its seat and not pinched during closure. Insert the new filter cartridge into the body, close the cover, and reconnect the hoses until you hear a complete click. To facilitate starting, fill the filter body as required for this type of housing and prime the system according to your engine's configuration (for example, using the manual pump if present or turning the ignition on several times before starting). Start the engine and let it run at idle for a few minutes, then carefully check for any leaks around the cover and the filter fittings.
