To replace the timing belt on the Peugeot 308 1.6 HDI, it is necessary to extract the engine from its housing for easier access. Next, loosen the screws that secure the cover over the pulleys and thus the belt. To extract it, insert screwdrivers into the toothed wheels to lock them, and loosen the tensioner bolt. Once this is loosened, you can remove the timing belt. Finally, insert the new belt, close it by reattaching the cover, and place the engine back into its housing.
