Replacing Rear Brake Shoes

Model: Peugeot 306 MK 1 - Years 1993-2002

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the rear wheels, access the brake shoe adjuster through the designated hole on the drum to loosen it and slightly close the shoes to facilitate drum removal; continue by disconnecting the springs and removing the pins that act as pivots for the shoe opening to remove them by disconnecting the handbrake cable; thoroughly clean the brake shoe seating, and if you notice any oil residue, it is advisable to also replace the slave cylinder by removing the oil pipe and the mounting pins. Then install the new slave cylinder, the new shoes by attaching the pins, the springs, and the adjuster, and the drum before adjusting the shoe opening: the drum should turn freely.
