Repairing Brake Pedal Switch

Model: Peugeot 406 MK 1 - Years 1995-2005

The brake pedal switch is located just above the brake lever. To access it, remove the plastic cover directly above the pedal assembly, disconnect the socket, and unclip it from its housing. Once removed, you can test its functionality with a multimeter by connecting the probes to the two contacts and checking for continuity while pressing the button. If it does not work, before replacing it, you can attempt to repair it by opening it and thoroughly cleaning the contacts with a file and possibly some contact cleaner spray.
