Replacing the Micro Switch on the Indicator Lever

Model: Peugeot 406 MK 1 - Years 1995-2005

The indicator lever contains an integrated micro switch that can be replaced, as the spare part is available in the aftermarket. To replace it, you need to remove the indicator lever from the steering column and then open it into the two parts that compose it. Once the indicator is removed from the column, secure the airbag tape ring to prevent it from rotating, disconnect the radio control lever, extract the central spring, and separate the upper part housing the airbag tape from the lower part that supports the levers and houses the electronic circuit. To separate the two elements, disengage the snap tabs along the edges. After separating the two elements of the indicator, pull the lever outward to access the micro switch: pull it out with pliers and insert the new one. Proceed in reverse for reassembly.
