How to Change the Rear Brake Pads of the Peugeot 308

Model: Peugeot 308 T9, MK 2 - Years 2013-2021

Open the bonnet of the 308 and remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir. Now, lift the rear of the car. Loosen the bolts of the rear wheels and then support it on two axle stands (do not rely solely on your jack). Always place the wheels under the car for safety. If the vehicle has an electric handbrake, set it to "maintenance" mode using a diagnostic tool. Now, using a flat screwdriver, lever at the front of the caliper to retract the piston. Remove the bolts from the bracket at the back, then rest the caliper on the coil spring of the shock absorber. You can now remove the pads and clean the bracket with a wire brush. Apply copper grease to the ends of the new pads, then fit the retaining clips. Insert the new pads into the bracket; refit the caliper and tighten the bracket bolts. Reactivate the electric handbrake. You can now refit the wheels. Operation complete.
