To replace the gear knob on a Peugeot 207, start by unfastening the lower part of the gaiter, lift it and underneath you will find a clip that you will need to cut to remove the gaiter; once the clip is detached, lower the gaiter, pull the gear knob firmly (there may be another clip, if so, cut it); at this point, take the new knob, insert it into the gaiter, turn the gaiter upside down, put a clip back in to secure the knob, reposition it on the shaft ensuring the gear pattern is as central as possible; finally, secure the gaiter to the base and the knob has been changed.
