Resetting the TPMS on the Porsche Macan S MK1

In this video, we will see how to reset the TPMS warning light on the Porsche Macan S MK1: on this vehicle, the TPMS system is indirect, so there are no direct pressure sensors inside the tires, but it uses the ABS sensors to calculate tire pressure by monitoring the rotation speed of each wheel. A deflated tire has a smaller diameter and therefore rotates faster. After adjusting the tire pressure according to the values indicated by the manufacturer and listed on the label on the driver’s door pillar, turn on the ignition and using the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel, press the "back" button, navigate through the menu to the "TPMS" option, hold the "enter" button for a few seconds, and this will take you to the configuration options: select "tire type." You need to select a tire type different from the one mounted (if you have 20", select 21"); then go back to the same menu and reset the correct value (so go back from 21" to 20" as in the previous example) and exit the menu. Drive for 5 to 10 minutes and the system will recalibrate the new reference values and correct pressures. The warning light will turn off.
